Paste the following query into the empty pane at the top: WITH CTE (StoreID, Subcategory, Quantity) On the Design a query page, click Edit as Text. Select any data source that is type SQL Server. On the Choose a connection to a data source page, select a data source from the list or browse to the report server to select one. On the Choose a dataset page, click Create a dataset > Next. In the right pane, click Table or Matrix Wizard. In the left pane, make sure New Report is selected. If you don't see the New Report or Dataset dialog box, on the File menu > New. ![]() The New Report or Dataset dialog box opens. Start Report Builder either from your computer, the Reporting Services web portal, or SharePoint integrated mode. In a business environment, a query would not contain the data. ![]() ![]() In this tutorial, the query contains the data values, so that it does not need an external data source.
